How Much Does AI Interview Software Cost? Pricing Models Compared (2026)

AI interview software can cost a few dollars per interview, a few hundred dollars a month, or thousands of dollars a year under a custom contract. The price depends on what the software does, how it counts interviews, and how many candidates you assess.

A $99 monthly plan might include just 15 interviews. Another product may charge a fixed fee for 50 or 100 interviews, then bill extra usage separately. Some charge by minute, credit, job opening or recruiter seat. Others offer unlimited one-way video interviews without a conversational AI interviewer.

That makes headline prices difficult to compare. If you're hiring 50 people a month, your shortlist may look different from the one you'd build for 500. You also need to account for interview format, unused credits, overage charges, integrations and the work your recruiting team still has to do.

Quick answer: what does AI interview software cost?

The most common pricing models are monthly subscriptions with an interview allowance, credits, per-minute charges, unlimited subscriptions, per-role fees and annual or custom contracts.

Fabric's published AI interview plans are $250 per month for 50 interviews, $450 for 100 interviews and $950 for 250 interviews. Enterprise pricing is custom for 500 or more interviews. Quarterly billing can save up to 10%. For the 500-interview comparison below, the estimated Fabric monthly cost is $1,875.

TalentSprout :— $199/month for 50 interviews; Growth is $499 for 250, then $2.50 per additional interview. See https://www.talentsprout.ai/pricing

Ribbon :— $499/month billed annually for 100 interviews, $999 for 400, or $1,999 for 1,000. Published overage is $4, $3 and $2.50 by tier. See https://www.ribbon.ai/pricing

Classet :— $249/month billed annually for 50 completed phone interviews; Scale is $999 for 250, with overage at $4 per interview. Enterprise starts at $1,995 with volume scoped. See https://www.classet.ai/pricing

Puck :— third-party listings describe a $1,000/month Pro plan for up to 500 AI Recruiter interviews. We have not confirmed this figure on Puck's own pricing page, so it is not plotted in the chart. See https://www.careerpuck.com/pricing

InterviewFlowAI :— $59/month for 20 credits, $299 for 303 credits on Growth, and $499 for 505 credits on Scale. Extra credits cost $3 on Pilot and $0.99 on Growth/Scale; one interview uses one credit. See https://interviewflowai.com/pricing

Estimates use published plan allowances, overage or top-up rates as available; all figures assume the stated allowance is used and interviews are comparable. Formats and lengths differ. InterviewFlowAI's 50-interview estimate uses its $59 Pilot allowance plus 30 additional credits at $3 each; its 250 and 500 estimates use the $299 Growth and $499 Scale plans. TalentSprout, Ribbon and Classet use published extra-usage rates. Fabric's $1,875 figure for 500 interviews is the volume estimate supplied for this comparison. Check each linked pricing page before purchasing.
Compare the workflow as well as the price: one-way video, phone screening and two-way AI interviews are not interchangeable.

The six AI interview pricing models

1. Monthly subscription with an interview allowance

You pay a fixed monthly amount for a set number of interviews. Extra usage may be billed separately, or you may need to upgrade. This model is easier to budget for when monthly hiring volume is predictable.

The advertised fee is not the full story. A $199 plan with 50 interviews works out to $3.98 per included interview if you use the entire allowance. If you use only 25, your effective cost doubles to $7.96 per completed interview, before any other charges.

Fabric's published plans: Pilot $250 for 50 interviews ($5.00 per included interview); Growth $450 for 100 ($4.50); Scale $950 for 250 ($3.80); Enterprise custom for 500+ interviews. Quarterly billing saves up to 10%.

2. Credit-based pricing

Credit systems can cover several types of assessment, but a credit doesn't always equal one interview. A product may deduct one credit for video and half a credit for phone screening; another may charge two credits for a conversational interview.

Before buying, ask how many credits each interview format uses, whether follow-ups or retakes use extra credits, whether unused credits roll over, and whether top-ups are available without upgrading.

3. Per-minute pricing

With per-minute pricing, your bill depends on connected or billable time. This model is common in voice AI and phone-based screening. Multiply the rate by billable minutes, then add other applicable charges. Check whether telephony is included and how connected time is measured.

In India, VoiceGun publishes a rate starting at ₹2.99 per connected minute plus GST, while Edesy lists ₹4–₹6 per minute plus telephony. These services should not automatically be compared with a full two-way video interview.

4. Unlimited subscriptions

An unlimited plan can work well for high volumes of one-way video responses. But unlimited does not mean every AI interview capability is included. One-way video software collects recorded answers to set questions; a conversational AI interviewer can ask follow-ups and adapt the conversation.

Hireflix lists unlimited one-way video interviews on a $75 monthly plan billed annually. Spark Hire lists unlimited one-way and live video interviews on a $249 monthly plan billed annually. These are not the same as a two-way AI interviewer.

5. Per-job or per-role pricing

Some products charge for each live job or role rather than each interview. Willo lists a Lite plan at £49 per live role per month, with up to 150 candidates per role. TheHireHub lists ₹9,500 per job slot. These prices are not directly comparable with an interview allowance.

6. Annual licence or custom contract

Some products do not publish a standard price and scope a contract around hiring volume, integrations, security requirements and contract length. Ask for recurring licence fees, implementation, integration, overages and one-time charges separately. Use the same volume and assessment workflow when comparing quotes.

What will AI interview software cost at 50, 250 or 500 interviews a month?

The worked examples below estimate monthly costs using published plan prices and the allowance, top-up and overage assumptions described on product pricing pages. They assume all interviews are completed and the allowance is used. These are planning estimates, not guaranteed quotes.

Fabric: $250 at 50 interviews; $950 at 250; $1,875 at 500 (500-interview volume estimate supplied for this comparison).

TalentSprout: $199 at 50; $499 at 250; $1,124 at 500 (Growth plus 250 additional interviews at $2.50 each).

Ribbon: $499 at 50; $999 at 250; $1,299 at 500 (Business includes 400 interviews; next 100 at $3 each).

Classet: $249 at 50; $999 at 250; $1,999 at 500 (Scale plus 250 overage interviews at $4 each; Enterprise starts at $1,995 with scoped volume).

InterviewFlowAI: $149 at 50 (Pilot plus 30 extra credits at $3 each); $299 at 250 (Growth); $499 at 500 (Scale includes 505 credits).

These are not a like-for-like quality ranking. Interview formats and length limits differ. Some totals depend on top-ups or overage rates. Use the numbers to identify plans worth examining, then calculate your expected monthly bill.

How to calculate your actual monthly cost

  • Estimate completed interviews in a normal month and a busy month.
  • Check how many interviews or credits the plan includes.
  • Calculate extra usage using the product's published overage or top-up rate.
  • Account for unused allowances if interviews or credits expire.
  • Add costs outside the plan, including applicable taxes, telephony, integrations and onboarding.

Monthly cost = subscription + extra usage + applicable fees and taxes. Divide that total by completed interviews to estimate your effective cost per interview.

AI interview software pricing in India

If you're hiring in India, you may encounter rupee-denominated pricing per minute, credits for video interviews, monthly allowances or fees per job slot. Fabric is another option: its AI interview plans are priced in US dollars and include a set number of interviews each month.

HyRiX lists a founding-partner plan at ₹1,975 per month for 200 AI video interviews, limited to the first 100 agencies. Babblebots lists ₹250–₹375 per AI video interview. InCruiter lists ₹1,99,999 plus GST for 100 credits, although another displayed figure of ₹2,63,988 is not clearly labelled by billing period.

VoiceGun starts at ₹2.99 plus GST per connected minute; Edesy lists ₹4–₹6 per minute plus telephony. TheHireHub lists ₹9,500 per job slot. FloCareer lists ₹1,200–₹1,800 for a human interview, which is a different service category.

Fabric's published AI interview plan prices are in USD. Confirm the applicable billing and tax treatment for your organisation before using the USD figures in a rupee budget. Check whether GST, telephony and unused interviews affect the final bill.

Fabric states that it is SOC 2 Type II certified, ISO 27001:2022 certified and DPDP compliant, with India hosting by default for Indian customers. Confirm the requirements that apply to your organisation before making a procurement decision.

What building your own AI interviewer costs

Buying software isn't the only option. You could build an AI interviewer yourself, but the cost isn't limited to calling a language model or connecting speech-to-text and text-to-speech tools. Fabric's build-versus-buy guide estimates that a prototype can take weeks, while a production system can take six to twelve months. Read https://fabrichq.ai/blogs/build-vs-buy-ai-interviews for the fuller breakdown.

  • Hiring workflow: candidate invitations, interview management, evaluation, recruiter review, reports and handoff into the hiring process.
  • Consistent evaluation: answers assessed against the role, with useful reports and consistent comparisons.
  • Testing and quality control: testing across roles, accents, languages, answer styles and candidate experiences.
  • Cheating detection: labelled examples and careful validation; a model flagging an answer is not proof of cheating.
  • Ongoing maintenance: model and infrastructure bills, monitoring, security, updates, troubleshooting, integrations and engineering.

The guide gives a baseline inference-cost estimate of $0.07–$0.30 per minute. For a 25-minute interview, that is approximately $1.75–$7.50 in inference cost alone, excluding engineering, testing, telephony, integrations and ongoing maintenance.

How to choose the right pricing model

  • How many interviews will you run? Estimate a normal month and a busy month.
  • What kind of interview do you need? One-way video, phone screening and a two-way AI interview are not interchangeable.
  • How long will each interview take? Check whether length affects credit consumption or price.
  • What happens when usage changes? Understand overages, top-ups, rollover and expiry.
  • What else must the product do? Include ATS integration, reporting, security requirements and remaining manual steps.

If you're evaluating Fabric, start with the published plan that matches your expected volume and interview workflow. Compare the allowance and included features with your requirements, and confirm any terms that are not stated on the pricing page before committing.

Frequently asked questions

How much does AI interview software cost?

AI interview software can range from a monthly subscription of tens or hundreds of dollars to a custom annual contract. The total depends on interview volume, format, included allowance, extra usage and features. Compare the monthly cost at your expected volume rather than relying only on the starting price.

What is the average cost per AI interview?

There is no single average that fairly describes the market. Some products charge per interview, while others charge by credits, minutes, job slots or a fixed licence. Divide the total monthly bill by completed interviews and compare products that provide similar interview formats.

Is AI interview software priced per candidate or per interview?

It depends on the product. Some plans include a fixed number of interviews or credits; others charge for connected minutes or active job roles. Check what the product counts as a billable interview and whether retries or additional assessments use more allowance.

What happens when I exceed my monthly interview allowance?

Depending on the product, you may pay an overage fee, purchase additional credits, upgrade your plan or be unable to run more interviews until the allowance resets. Check the plan terms and model normal and peak usage before buying.

Do unused AI interview credits roll over?

Some products allow unused credits to roll over, while others reset the allowance monthly or apply different rules to annual plans. Confirm whether unused interviews expire, can be pooled across periods, or remain available only while your subscription is active.

How much does AI interview software cost in India?

Pricing in India varies by billing unit and interview format. Published examples include monthly allowances, per-interview video pricing, per-minute voice AI pricing and per-job fees. Compare the actual service included and check whether GST, telephony and other charges are additional. Fabric's published AI interview plan prices are in US dollars.

Is one-way video interview software the same as an AI interviewer?

No. One-way video software generally lets candidates record answers to set questions. A conversational AI interviewer can ask follow-up questions and carry on a two-way conversation. Compare products against the interview experience and evaluation you need, not only the advertised cost per interview.

Is it cheaper to build an AI interviewer in-house?

Not necessarily. Model usage is only one part of the cost. You also need engineering, interview workflows, evaluation, testing, cheating detection, security, integrations and ongoing maintenance. A prototype may take weeks, but a production-ready system can take substantially longer. Compare full build and maintenance costs with the software subscription before deciding.

Next step: estimate your monthly interview volume, identify the interview format you need, and compare the complete cost at that volume.
